Namitha Kapoor is a popular Tamil actress. She started out by participating in the Femina Miss India Contest. She was born on May 10, 1981 in Surat, India. She has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi films. Although she started out in Telugu movies, she became famous after the Tamil film Engal Anna opposite Vijayakanth.

Born and raised in Kurichi, Real name Namita M Vankawala, studied at Ratnam Arts College, Surat. Punjabi-speaking Namitha is another actress in the long list of heroines who made it in Telugu and Tamil movies. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a housewife.

She became popular after acting in the Tamil film Engal Anna with Vijayakanth. After being crowned Miss Surat in 1998, she participated in the Miss India contest in 2001. she also won people’s favourite award to win miss india world title.It brought Namitha roles in the Telugu film industry.*Namitha Kapoor appeared in an English film named Maya directed by Eric Manning.
